The broad vision that brought the founding members together was one of a football club that was owned by our community and represented the community’s civic, social and cultural identity.
The genesis of this club goes all the way back to 2008 and can be traced through lots of small meetings, chats, encounters, and talk.
It’s fair to say our club has been quite succesfull in its 5 short years in existence.

City of Liverpool FC are pleased to announce the signing of forward Morgan Smith from FC United of Manchester.
The talented 22 year old spent last season on loan at Broadhurst Park from National League North side Southport, and has previously represented AFC Fylde and Harrogate Town.
Smith played 9 games during his loan spell with FC United, scoring 3 goals, before the season was brought to an end by the pandemic. The highly-rated youngster then opted to join The Reds permanently in the summer and has featured in 10 games this season.
A former Morecambe scholar, Morgan is a left-footed attacking player who is comfortable playing wide right or across the forward positions.
Manager Michael Ellison is delighted to welcome a player of Smith’s calibre to the club, “Morgan is a great addition to the squad, he’s a real technician with an eye for goal and he’s a young ambitious lad with a point to prove.”
“I’m delighted he chose the Purps to showcase his talent”.
Welcome to the club, Morgan.
