Kendal Town v City of Liverpool

As with our homes games there will be some restrictions in place at Lakelands Radio Stadium. Please follow the advice of Kendal Town volunteers in relation to social distancing and masks. By us following the guidelines we are ensuring a safe environment to watch the match not only for ourselves but for those around us
After Tuesdays 3-0 loss to Morpeth Town in the FA Cup it was a weekend with no scheduled competitive football for the Purps. But it wasn’t a weekend off the squad who played a behind closed doors friendly on Saturday against Vauxhall Motors. The score of that was 2-2.
Kendal have had a mixed start to the season in their opening 3 games. They exited the FA Cup in the Preliminary Round after a 5-0 home defeat to Bishop Auckland. They opened their league campaign with a 2-0 defeat away to Prescott Cables but followed it up with a hard fought goalless draw at home to Workington on Saturday.
This will be the third meeting between City of Liverpool and Kendal Town. We played them both home and away in the league before the lockdown last season. Our first meeting was a comfortable 4-1 win at home thanks to a Tom Peterson double and goals from Anthony Brown and John McGrath. We also won the reverse fixture 1-0 thanks to a Jack Hazlehurst free-kick on what was his 100 Purps appearance. City of Liverpool will be looking to take all 3 points again on Tuesday.
