City of Liverpool FC are delighted to announce the signing of Nathan Burke from FC United of Manchester.

An energetic and accomplished box-to-box midfielder, Nathan has a great reputation in the game having started his career at Liverpool FC Academy.

The 24 year old scouser spent nine years at the Premier League club, where he held the role of captain at various youth levels.

After leaving Liverpool, Nathan impressed at Warrington Town before spending four successful years at Bala Town where he played in UEFA Europa League fixtures.

Burke impressed as a trialist in Tuesday’s friendly victory over Market Drayton Town FC, capping a fine individual performance by scoring an emphatic left footed strike from range to make it 3-0.

Manager Craig Robinson was pleased to welcome his new recruit, “This is a great signing for us, I’ve known Nathan a long time he’s great young man with huge talent that will fit well in our squad.”

“He’s been successful wherever he has been and I’ve no doubt he will be a success with us and bring that winning mentality we are looking for!

Burke goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s final pre-season game, away at FC United of Manchester.

Welcome to the club, Nathan.
